Youth Programs
TRAILS Ministries provides various programs targeting Youth needs in our communities.
Certify-Ed
Virtual reality education courses allowing for earned college credits and obtaining trade-specific certifications. Courses offered in: biotechnology, carpentry, criminal justice, culinary arts, drones, fundamentals of robotics, medical assistant, nursing assistant, promobotics, the art of taekwondo (yellow belt) and welding.
DOVE Program
The DOVE program is a community-based, clinical day program for male & female youth in grades 6-12 and/or between 12 and 21. The majority of program participants are referred from the county’s Juvenile Probation or Child Welfare, but referrals are also received through school districts and self-referrals.
FREE
Teleconferencing equipment is utilized to keep youth in the Juvenile
Justice System connected to their families. TRAILS also provides transportation to families to be able to regularly visit with their children while completing programming at juvenile detention and placement facilities.
Finding Your Independence (FYI)
Mentoring and advocacy for youth in the foster care/dependency system in both placement and the community. This specific mentoring is geared towards those needing to develop life skills and independence, in order to transition out of care.
Independent Living Work Experience
Youth in the Independent Living Program through Beaver County Children & Youth Services are permitted to gain work experience at TRAILS for up to 30 hrs./wk. in various capacities in order to gain the skills and competence necessary to work in the broader workforce.
Neighborhood North After-School Adventures
A free, afterschool program for youth ages 5-18 yrs. in four communities, specifically designed for youth residing in public housing and surrounding neighborhoods. Focus on connecting youth to resources, nature, role models and opportunities in their own communities.
Supporting Transition-Aged Youth (STAY) Housed Program
Housing assistance program for youth who were in foster placement after the age of 16. This program provides ongoing support to youth 17 to 26 in collaboration with HUD, the Beaver County Housing Authority, and CYS. The program can provide 3 years of support.
